Community Shelter Super Stars 2022

We invite you to join the Community Shelter Super Stars campaign and make a lasting impact on residents experiencing hunger and homelessness in our community.

Super Stars is a quick & easy fundraising campaign lasting from June 1-July 11. Each participant – whether individual, business or community group – is asked to raise $1,000. You can raise money any way you like – have fun with it! Don’t worry; we’ll give you fundraising materials and information on the vital work of the Community Shelter to help with your fundraising.

Although we ask everyone to raise at least $1,000, if you fall shy of that goal, it’s OK because we know you tried.

Each Super Star – whether Super Star, Leader, Co-chair or Chair – will be recognized in a color ad in Union County Weekly and The Enquirer-Journal newspapers with their photo or their company logo. You’ll also be featured on our website, in social media postings, our electronic newsletter, and will receive some cool Shelter gear.

As a fundraiser, you are making a HUGE difference in the lives of thousands of Union County neighbors. All proceeds stay in Union County and directly support our emergency shelter, food and rehousing programs.

WHEN: June 1 to July 11 is the fundraising timeframe. AII proceeds should be submitted by July 12.
WHAT: We need your commitment on the form below, plus the Super Star name you want listed in the ad
(person, family, group or business) and a vertical/square color headshot (we can help) or business logo.
HOW: Here’s how the campaign works. Our two volunteer chairs and Shelter board members — Penny Hefner and Yorda Kidane — are forming teams of Super Star Co-chairs, who commit to raising $1,000 and to securing three Super Star Leaders to raise $1,000. The Super Star Leaders also will commit to raising $1,000 and securing three Super Stars to raise their own $1,000. Where can we put your photograph on our organization chart?

As a Super Star, all you have to do is have fun meeting your $1,000 goal. You can come up with a multitude of ideas to raise your $1,000 – make it fun. Things like bake sales, car washes, letter writing campaign to friends and family, hosting a dinner, holding a raffle, asking businesses to sponsor you, holding a social media fundraising campaign, throwing a party, having a yard sale. The ideas are unlimited.
