The Community Shelter of Union County has a robust food program that serves many of our neighbors across the county.
Dining Hall
Our kitchen and dining hall provides 3 prepared meals a day to anyone experiencing a need, no certification needed.
- Breakfast is served 8:30 a.m.-9 a.m.
- Lunch is served 12:30 p.m.-1 p.m.
- Supper is served 6:30 p.m.-7 p.m.
Drive-thru Pantry
We operate 2 drive-thru pantries a month in the parking lot of the Community Shelter at 160 Meadow Street. One will be in the morning (9:30am-11:30am) and one will be in the evening (4pm-5:30pm). You can come through both pantry dates each month.
Our Pantry Guidelines
- For Union County residents.
- Forms are filled out for the whole family, not just the head of household.
- Each family can come through both pantry dates each month.
- Income Guidelines-Entire household income must be below the required income level. (See below)

- For morning pantries-a demographic form must be completed each time.
- Evening pantries-if a pantry card is presented, a demographic form does not need to be completed again
- Pantry cards, family information and these pantry guidelines are mailed after each pantry to new family as long as we have a valid mailing address. Each family will receive 1 card in the name of the person who came to the pantry. Call 980-220-9488 if you need to request a new card or for a different adult in the family. If anything is incorrect on your family information sheet, you can handwrite any changes on the sheet and bring it back to the next pantry and drop off with the volunteers filling out applications.
- You must re-certify your information every 6 months.
- The pantry card can only be used by the person named on the card; cards cannot be given to friends/family to pick up for you.
