You’ve given generously in the past; we ask for your support again.

For many years, our Pass The Plate breakfasts have provided the opportunity for Community Shelter clients to tell their stories – how they became homeless and, more importantly, how your support made the difference in their lives.  The breakfasts raised funds to provide much-needed emergency services to those experiencing hunger and homelessness in Union County.
This year, we cannot hold an onsite event, due to Covid, but we’re still holding the critical event – by Internet – and asking for your support again.
This year has been brutal for hundreds of residents who
We’d be scared, too!
Every week, we hear more and more stories from clients – stories about not finding work or working half their regular hours, about getting letters from their landlords and about trying to buy enough food to feed their family for another week.
FACT:  We have received more than 430 requests for financial eviction relief due to Covid. We have distributed $215,028 in restricted grant funds to 127 households and expect to facilitate an additional $397,427 this year, strictly for eviction relief.
FACT: Since March, we have distributed more than 418,750 pounds of food to community neighbors in need – that’s a pace almost double last year’s amount.    We depend on donations of pantry food from the public, but we also purchase food to provide a more-balanced diet.
FACT: Due to Covid, we have housed 107 homeless clients in motel rooms due to medical vulnerability or overflow demand.
