Founded in 1984, Union County Community Shelter's mission and purpose is to provide food and shelter to the hungry and homeless of Union County, North Carolina, and to provide programs to help the homeless achieve self-sufficiency.

Community Shelter Hosts First Annual Hungry & Homeless Summit for Union County
Please join us May 7th for the first annual summit on Hunger and Homelessness! We invite all area churches, civic groups and government agenicies to attend. This is a free event that will include lunch at Central United Methodist Church, Monroe, NC from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Please email donna.freeman@unionshelter.org to rsvp! Calling all golfers....It's that time to hit the links in one of the best charity golf tournaments in town...Join us April 17th at Monroe Country Club. Full lunch served prior to shot gun start! Come help the Homeless and Hungry and have fun while doing so!! more
Souper Bowl of Caring Launched to Help Soup Kitchen
Churches and Schools encouraged to collect donations for the Soup-er Bowl of Caring during the Football Superbowl season....any day in Feb or March! more
